Support for Nova Scotians displaced by wildfires
2023 saw unprecedented hardship visited on thousands of Nova Scotians due to major wildfires in our province. In HRM 17,000 people were evacuated, while thousands more were placed on 30 minutes notice to do the same. Hundreds of homes have been lost. In Shelburne County over half the residents have been evacuated and significant property damage suffered. Hundreds of NSADA member employees serve as volunteer first responders in our volunteer fire services, search and rescue organizations and local relief agencies. They are on the front lines supporting their communities and fellow Nova Scotians. Some of our dealerships have supported the emergency response by donating vehicles for the transportation of firefighting equipment and personnel. Immediate aid is required by those displaced, and rebuilding will be long and costly. The Nova Scotia Division of the Canadian Red Cross is currently receiving financial donations in support of those in need. Please see the link below, and know that your donation will be matched dollar for dollar by our Federal Government.
